Green Root Farm is located in Weathersfield, Vermont. Passionate about the environment, being connected to the earth, and keeping their children grounded Green Root Farm was born from creative minds that like to tinker.
Ron and Amy Beth Main both grew up in Connecticut but relocated up the Connecticut River to where their maternal roots began. Ron’s maternal lineage hails from Woodstock, Vermont and Amy Beth is a direct descendant of Daniel Putnam a member of the founding family of Cornish, New Hampshire. They see their choice to settle in Weathersfield as returning to their heritage.
They live on their parcel with their two children Sydney and Mason. Golden retrievers, chickens, bees, and painted turtles are just a few of the creatures that share the land. Ron and Amy Beth are actively involved in their community in various capacities.
Ron works with various mediums including but not limited to wood, hypertufa, and re-purposing various materials. Amy Beth maintains extensive gardens that evolve into various products such a salves, luffas, gourd birdhouses, as well as dabbling in various handcrafts. Fresh eggs are a staple of Green Root Farm, and we are excited to be able to offer honey from our expanding apiary. We currently have fifteen hives, one of which is an observation hive in the living room.
There is a small orchard of apples, pears, apricots, a blueberry patch, raspberry, asparagus, and horseradish are just a few of the perennial fruits and vegetables that are harvested to feed the family.
